Do you need a particular instrument added to your track to make it come alive? Maybe you need a complete backing track to either jam along to or use for performing or teaching?

I have decades of track production experience and working from my own studio in the UK, I can offer the following services at very affordable prices:

Individual instrument tracks:

Guitar, Bass Guitar, Midi-Drums and Keyboards. Styles available include acoustic, classical, funk, rock, pop, metal, jazz, soul etc.

Full Backing Tracks:

Top quality bespoke backing tracks produced for vocalists, duos, guitarists etc. All tracks are arranged and recorded from the ground up, which means that they can be tailored to meet your exact requirements in terms of key, instrumentation and style etc. The backing tracks I produce are meticulously recorded and are designed to sound like a professional live band, rather than a facsimile cover of the original recording. When performing track gigs, I only use my own tracks, primarily so that the live mixed sound is completely consistent from the opening song, through to the end of the night – just as it would be with a live band.

Styles available include acoustic, funk, rock, pop, metal, jazz, soul etc.

Midi-Drums are programmed using FXpansion BFD2 software. Midi tracks can be supplied either as midi files or audio wav format. Guitar and Bass tracks are supplied in wav format.

Examples of my tracks can be found on the audio page of this site. If you would like to hear a style not covered there, let me know and I will happily forward a sample to you. All instrumentation on the samples was arranged and recorded by me.

The Process:

For individual instrument parts, I ask for an mp3 of the song and a description of the style of track you require – either in exact detail or as a general feel. I will then arrange and record the track, sending you a roughly mixed mp3 of the instrument, blended with your song for your evaluation. If you are happy with my work, and once payment is received, I will then send a wav file of the individual track. Depending upon your needs, the track can either be entirely dry and unmixed or pre-EQ’d, with or without effects (reverb, chorus etc).

If you are not happy with the track on the evaluation mp3, there is no charge at that stage. If you require the track to be altered slightly, the first modification is free of charge. Subsequent work is charged at my hourly rate (see below).

Pricing:

Once I have received the details of your request, I will supply you with a quotation for the work. I base my costs around a figure of £30 per hour.

As an example, a rhythm guitar or bass track on a typical 4 minute rock/pop song will take about 2 hours to complete and would therefore cost £60.

A full backing track of a 4 minute rock/pop song may take between 6 and 10 hours, depending on the work involved, however, I will always ensure that you know exactly how much the work will cost beforehand.

Turnaround time is usually within 1 week, but I can give a more specific time frame for each individual project. For very urgent work, I am sometimes able to offer a faster service for a pre-agreed additional fee.

Transcription:

I can also produce the score for the recorded track (with or without tab), should you require it. Transcriptions are produced using Sibelius software and are individually quoted for upon request.
